Job description

Our client is a privately-owned Real Estate Development and Property Management company that owns and manages a diverse and growing portfolio of commercial properties. They are committed to excellence in design and service, actively developing new exciting mixed-use and commercial projects.

The company is looking to build a dynamic team, offering a professional modern office environment with an excellent work/life balance, exposure to the full range of business operations, and the ability to quickly assume a high level of responsibility.

The incumbent should be an ambitious self-starter with a passion for real estate, a great service-oriented attitude, possessing strong communication and organizational skills, a positive personality, with the ability to work both independently and with our senior management team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement strategies for managing property maintenance schedules and capital projects.
  2. Oversee construction and maintenance contractors during service and repairs.
  3. Manage building automation systems and other building operation systems.
  4. Address tenant work orders promptly and professionally to meet lease obligations.
  5. Review and negotiate construction and property maintenance contracts.
  6. Work to meet asset management objectives.
  7. Assist the operations group in the preparation of the annual budget.
  8. Assist the controller with year-end audits.
  9. Liaise with lease administrators and legal teams to ensure lease information accuracy.
  10. Implement best practices to improve relationships and service quality for tenants.
  11. Be on call for after-hours emergencies and troubleshooting regarding properties.
  12. Perform other office administrative tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  1. Post-secondary degree in business or a related field is beneficial.
  2. Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial property management; experience in other asset classes or RPA/CPM designation is also beneficial.
  3. Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize workload and multitask.
  4. Well-organized, analytical, problem solver with high attention to detail and negotiation skills to manage and resolve issues effectively.
  5. Knowledge of building operating systems to analyze proposed capital works.
  6. Knowledge of environmental and regulatory requirements.
  7. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  8. Experience with property management software such as Yardi.
  9. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
