Job Description

Akelius is seeking a Property Manager to oversee a portfolio of multi-family apartment buildings.

The Property Manager will be responsible for effectively managing these buildings, maintaining excellent relationships with residents and staff.

The successful candidate will have a strong desire to create extraordinary experiences of home and community while exceeding resident satisfaction.

  • Address tenant concerns promptly and professionally
  • Perform regular property and unit inspections, addressing deficiencies promptly
  • Issue legal forms and notices, represent at Landlord and Tenant Board hearings
  • Maintain positive relationships with tenants, vendors, and stakeholders
  • Organize move-in and move-out inspections
  • Negotiate and manage service contracts
  • Hire and manage maintenance technicians and onsite personnel
  • Contribute to process and procedure development in the Property Management department
  • Respond to emergencies after hours and on weekends as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Degree focus in Business Administration, Real Estate, Accounting, or related field preferred
  • Three or more years of experience as a residential property manager
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Resourceful, confident decision-maker
  • High attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks
  • Strong knowledge of RTA and landlord/tenant relationships
  • Understanding of building systems
  • Proven leadership of maintenance and onsite staff
  • Ability to stay focused in a changing environment
  • Strong command of English
  • Ability to respond to daytime and after-hours emergencies
  • Proficient in MS Office and Yardi Voyager software
  • Property Management certifications are a plus
