What it’s like to be a Northbridge Risk Services Specialist Property & Casualty

The Risk Services Specialist is responsible for promoting and delivering advanced risk management techniques. They act as partners, providing a full range of advisory, consulting, training, and education programs to assigned customers, both internally and externally.

Our Risk Services Specialists are passionate about loss exposure and trends; this involves thoroughly identifying hazards and controls for risks through site assessments and customer interviews. Working autonomously in the field and collaborating with Underwriting and Brokers, they develop best practices and are Subject Matter Experts.

You have:

  • Post-secondary education and/or industry-specific experience in engineering or engineering technology (fire protection, mechanical, electrical, etc.)
  • Minimum 5-8 years industry experience as a risk consultant or in a related engineering or engineering technology field
  • Working knowledge of NFPA standards and fire/building codes
  • Experience in assessing commercial automobile fleets (asset)
  • Level 1 Infrared thermography certification (asset)
  • Experience in agricultural and/or course of construction (COC) risk (asset)
  • Advanced understanding of risk and insurance management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and climb ladders if necessary

In B.C., the expected pay range is $90,000 - $105,000.
