Job description

This posting is for one (1) Temporary, Full-Time position with Benefits that may continue until August 15, 2026

The Edmonton Police Service requires a highly organized and competent property technician to work in our Exhibit Management Branch (Police Seized Vehicle Section) on a full-time, temporary basis. The major responsibilities of this position involve :

  • Preparing unclaimed vehicles for disposal, including the removal of unclaimed property and the use of small power tools.
  • May be required to facilitate the removal / confiscation of firearms.
  • Providing customer service to police members and the public.
  • Utilizing set policies and procedures, process court relevant exhibits and general property.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of a two (2) year Community College Diploma in Law Enforcement and a minimum of one (1) year experience in a stores operation.
  • Experience using Microsoft applications.
  • Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy objects and work outdoors during all weather conditions.
  • Applicant must qualify for Community Peace Officer Status.
  • A firearms safety course or related training would be considered an asset.
  • Experience in use of a forklift / wheel loader would be considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team and provide superior customer service.
  • Use of City of Edmonton Vehicle : Must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Drivers License. Must have or qualify for a City of Edmonton driving permit. Must have the ability to safely operate a 1 ton cube van, ½ ton truck or any other Class 5 vehicle. Applicant may be tested and be able to obtain a City Driver’s License.
  • Operating a Forklift, Stock Pickers, Pallet Jacks, etc : Must possess a valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s License. Must have or qualify for a City of Edmonton driving permit. Must provide proof of Training Certificate and permit from the city of Edmonton.
  • Hours of Work :

    33.75 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Hours of work may be subject to the terms and conditions of variable hours of work program.

    Salary Range :

    21M, Salary Grade : 013, $30.74 - $38.57 (Hourly), $2,075.00 - $2,604.10 (Bi-Weekly), $54,157.96 - $67,966.55 (Annually).
