Unlike large loss adjusters who work on-site, examiners provide guidance and oversight to ensure proper execution and customer service, aligning with Aviva's best practices. You will manage the investigation, analysis, adjustment, and settlement of property claims, working with specialists and vendors to maintain quality and efficiency while controlling costs and delivering excellent customer service.

This position offers a hybrid work model, combining the benefits of remote and on-site work.

  • Collaborating with insurers on subscription claims
  • Preparing and presenting claim strategies, coverage analysis, and disposition
  • Investigating claims through IA reports and specialists
  • Reviewing facts, policies, and estimates to settle claims
  • Communicating claim adjustments via reports
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Ensuring data accuracy and issuing payments
  • Completing all correspondence promptly, including legal and settlement documents
  • Identifying questionable claims, subrogation, and risk opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of the property insurance industry
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in commercial and residential property claims
  • Strong construction knowledge and understanding of property law
  • Familiarity with property coverage wordings
  • Basic accounting skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Licenses in NB, PEI, and NFLD (preferred)

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary range: $55,600 to $103,200, based on experience and skills
  • Competitive rewards including bonuses, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness programs
  • Additional vacation days available for purchase
  • Diversity and inclusion initiatives
  • Wellness programs supporting physical and mental health
