Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Property Claims Adjuster to join our team in the Huntsville/Gravenhurst/Muskoka regions in Ontario, Canada.

The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle commercial lines claims by telephone and correspondence. The candidate will participate in ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and presentation of files.

Responsibilities

  • Interviewing claimants and witnesses
  • Obtaining official documents
  • Comparing claims information with evidence
  • Determination of liability
  • Making offers to claimants
  • Issuing cheques
  • Disposing of salvage
  • Pursuing subrogation
  • Accurate recording, reporting, and presentation of files, including evidence at legal proceedings
  • Maintaining accurate billing, and time and expense records
  • Working with managers to maintain client relations

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of technical experience in an insurance claims environment, with strong knowledge of property claims
  • Knowledge of commercial lines is an asset
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field, working towards full license and CIP designation
  • Proficiency in CMS, including maintaining detailed activity, transaction, and reserve records
  • Advanced computer skills, including Office 365
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player with a strong commitment to quality and customer service
