Job description

We are currently recruiting a Property Claims Adjuster to join our team in the Huntsville/Gravenhurst/Muskoka regions in Ontario, Canada. The successful candidate will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle commercial lines claims by telephone and correspondence. The candidate will also participate in ensuring accurate recording, reporting, and presentation of files.

Responsibilities
  • Interview claimants and witnesses
  • Obtain official documents
  • Compare claims information with evidence
  • Determine liability
  • Make offers to claimants
  • Issue cheques
  • Dispose of salvage
  • Pursue subrogation
  • Accurately record, report, and present files, including evidence at legal proceedings
  • Maintain accurate billing, and time and expense records
  • Work with manager to maintain client relations
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of technical experience in an insurance claims environment, with strong knowledge of property claims. Knowledge of commercial lines is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field; working towards full license and CIP designation is an asset.
  • Proficient in claims management systems, maintaining detailed activity, transaction, and reserve records.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
  • Must be a team player with a strong commitment to quality and customer service.
