About this opportunity:

This role is responsible for delivering accurate production revenue accounting and regulatory volumetric reporting and compliance for complex upstream oil and gas operations. It supports a variety of conventional operated assets, including gas batteries, gathering systems, and gas plants, with a strong emphasis on data accuracy and regulatory alignment.

Using systems such as Metrix and PVR, the role operates in a fast-paced, high-change environment where analytical thinking and effective prioritization are key. It plays a vital part in meeting regulatory deadlines and providing reliable data to support operational and business decisions.

What you’ll do:

  • Perform full-cycle production accounting, including volumetric, revenue, and royalty reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all deadlines

  • Maintain production accounting systems and master file data, ensuring all setups and changes meet EPAP, SOX, and other regulatory requirements

  • Input, process, and analyze monthly volumetric data; compile, balance, and verify field reports; confirm third-party volumes and reconcile purchaser receivables

  • Analyze and calculate Crown, GOR, and Freehold royalties; prepare and publish pipeline splits based on data from working interest owners, third parties, and clients

  • Review operating and marketing agreements to ensure accurate handling of allocations, equalizations, and royalty obligations

  • Prepare and submit provincial regulatory reports (e.g., Alberta), input revenue into the accounting system, and manage prior period adjustments and amendments

  • Support audits, desk reviews, and process changes driven by regulatory updates, measurement changes, or complex allocations; identify and implement improvement opportunities

  • Collaborate with operational teams, respond to internal and external queries, and provide training and backup coverage as required

Who you are:

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:

  • Legally authorized to work in Canada

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in full-cycle production accounting, with a strong background in Alberta properties, including gas plants, proration facilities, recombined wells, and gas units

  • CAPPA Certificate is preferred and considered a strong asset

  • Advanced knowledge of allocations, measurement, audits, and related production accounting processes

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and work with complex operational and financial data

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively across Finance, Operations, Emissions, and Engineering teams

  • Highly organized and adaptable, with proven multitasking and prioritization skills in fast-paced, dynamic work environments

  • Proficient in Metrix, Petrinex, EC (Field Data Capture), SAP (ERP), CS Land, and Spotfire reporting tools

We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.

Note: The application deadline for this position is 11:59 PM MT August 12, 2025.
