Property Accountant (Single Family Property Management)

Zen Residential Ltd. is looking for a Property Accountant to support the financial operations of our growing single-family home portfolio. In this role, you'll play a key part in maintaining accurate records, preparing financial reports, supporting budgeting processes, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.

What You'll Do- Maintain accurate financial records for Zen's single-family property portfolio
- Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments
- Support monthly and year-end close processes, including bank reconciliations and general ledger entries
- Prepare financial reports and assist in budget preparation for property owners
- Use Buildium software to manage property financials and maintain tenant/vendor data
- Assist with system setup and updates within Buildium
- Respond to tenant inquiries related to payments and account activity
- Collaborate with vendors and property managers to resolve financial discrepancies
- Prepare documentation for internal audits and support financial compliance
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information
- Provide administrative support to the accounting team as needed
- Participate in ongoing training and development to strengthen accounting expertise
What You Bring- 3+ years of accounting experience (property accounting preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
- Experience with Buildium or similar property management software is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Clear communication and collaboration skills with a team-focused approach
- High level of integrity and professionalism when handling financial data
