Description

Project Technologist

Pinchin Ltd. is currently looking for a dynamic and organized Project Technologist to join our Indoor Environmental Quality team. The IEQ team provides clients with a variety of consulting services involving indoor air quality, Legionella, microbial contamination, and infection control.

A Day in the Life of a Project Technologist:

  • Complete assessments for mould, indoor air quality (IAQ), designated substances, and other hazardous materials.
  • Conduct interviews with clients regarding building history and site-specific client concerns.
  • Perform inspections and evaluate building systems.
  • Assess building damages related to floods, water losses, smoke, and fire.
  • Assist clients following flood and loss emergencies to get buildings dried, cleaned, or remediated and operational.
  • Collect a variety of air and bulk (mould, asbestos, lead, dust, bacteria, etc.) samples.
  • Interpret laboratory results.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting findings and provide recommendations to address concerns.
  • Inspect abatement and restoration contractors undertaking mould, asbestos, and other hazardous materials remediation work to document that the work has been properly completed.

What You Bring to Pinchin:

  • College diploma in Construction or Architectural Technology, or Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
  • Post-graduate environmental management certificate or equivalent would be an asset.
  • 1-2 years of experience with IEQ work preferred.
  • Consulting industry experience preferred.
  • Experience with building construction or maintenance is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Valid driver’s license, insurance, and a personal vehicle required.
  • Availability to travel to clients’ sites.
  • Availability to work outside of core business hours (occasional evenings and weekends).
