As part of the ONxpress consortium, Alstom is proudly working to transform the collective mobility of the Greater Toronto and Hamilton areas (GTHA) through the On-Corridor Works project. The GO Expansion scope includes fleet upgrades, train control systems, network electrification, signalling, telecommunications, and digital systems.

Objective

In close collaboration with the System Deployment & Integration Manager (SDIM) and Project Manager, you will drive the Product Acceptance Processes and coordinate deployment of engineering tools:

  1. Writing Scope of Work
  2. Define Product Acceptance Plan and Processes
  3. Requirement analysis and allocation (for all contractual requirements related to signaling products) up to global system acceptance by the customer (including Test & Commissioning and certification/homologation)
  4. Ensuring the successful completion of customer acceptance of products utilized for the project.
Responsibilities
  • Manage the technical scope of customer product acceptance (in support of the SDIM and PM)
  • Be accountable for performance and customer acceptance of the project solution
  • Create and execute product acceptance plans, considering timelines and available resources
  • Manage technical risks and mitigation plans
  • Raise variation orders and manage scope evolution in coordination with the Project Manager
  • Identify applicable standards and regulations, ensuring they are incorporated into acceptance and certification documents
  • Ensure all product acceptance cases are accepted by the customer within required timelines
  • Lead engineering efforts to develop required product acceptance cases, ensuring application of safety principles
  • Manage product documentation approval processes and support subsystem managers and engineering leaders
  • Oversee interfaces between sub-systems and with external third parties for acceptance efforts
  • Coordinate testing, certification activities, and safety case delivery and assessment
  • Analyze project requirements, allocate, and demonstrate compliance
  • Coordinate activities to obtain project provisional and final acceptance
Performance Measurements
  • Work package QCDP (quality, cost, delivery, performance), including on-time delivery
  • Completion and freeze of project product documentation approval with customer
  • Timely delivery of product acceptance case to customer
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related scientific subjects
  • P. Eng certification or in progress
Experience Requirements
  • Experience in railway product acceptance processes, standards such as CENELEC and AREMA
  • Minimum 5 years working on signaling projects in a technical role
  • Hands-on team management experience
  • Experience managing technical subcontractors
  • Cost and planning control in engineering scope
  • Experience with interlocking design, signaling equipment, electrical and power supply/distribution
  • Experience managing customer relationships in contractual situations
  • Desirable: Knowledge of rail and signaling products/services, full lifecycle engineering product development, safety background
