Project Superintendent

The Project Superintendent completes project requirements as per plans and specifications on time and on budget in cooperation with the Project Manager, while promoting and enforcing the Health & Safety program.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation, policies and procedures in daily operations;
• Ensure compliance with applicable environmental laws and regulations, policies and procedures in daily operations;
• Review and monitor Job Safety Analysis (JSA's) to ensure compliance to the requirements of the process and safety of the work;
• Represent Kenaidan Contracting Ltd. in dealing with the MOL during on-site visits, as required;
• Coordination of site personnel;
• Coordinate with trade contractors for proper sequencing;
• Maintain accurate and concise records of cost codes and be familiar with current and projected costs;
• Verify and audit site costs against the budget;
• Manage and foresee potential problems in design/construction;
• Develop, with the involvement of the Project Manager, the overall project schedule;
• Coordinate equipment and manpower to achieve schedule requirements;
• Identify potential additional work with the Project Manager and track as required;
• Hold regular trade meetings, safety meetings, etc. and ensure meeting minutes are recorded, posted, and distributed;
• Review weekly quantity reports for labour cost;
• Continual review of the contract drawings to identify discrepancies between the various disciplines.

Education and Experience:

• Experience as a Site Supervisor/Project Superintendent in a General Contracting environment, managing all aspects of the project;
• C.Tech., P.Eng., or CET designation;
• Either hold or are eligible for your ‘Gold Seal’ certification;
• 10 -15 years’ construction-related experience in the $75~$100 million range;
• Water/Waste Water, ICI/Infrastructure, Transport or Airport Project Experience;
• Highly competent with self-performed formwork and concrete;
• Outstanding communication and organizational skills;
• Strong leadership and teambuilding abilities;
• Ability to effectively manage an hourly workforce and sub-trades;
• Proficiency with MS Office is required.
