Job summary

Hypertec is seeking a Project Scheduler to join our Construction team in Montreal, Quebec. This role focuses on developing baseline schedules, tracking progress, and coordinating across departments with a strong emphasis on timely communication to stakeholders.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor degree in engineering or related field, 3+ years of scheduling experience, and is bilingual in French and English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or equivalent required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a project scheduler or in project leadership with scheduling experience.
• Proficient bilingual French and English with strong communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and project scheduling software (MS Project or P6).
• Strong organizational and documentation abilities.
• Willingness to travel within Canada and the U.S. if needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop baseline schedules with tasks, milestones and dependencies input from PMs and engineers.
• Monitor progress, identify deviations and potential impacts to the schedule.
• Inform stakeholders and team members about schedule status and delays.
• Identify scheduling risks and facilitate remedial actions.
• Coordinate activities across departments and trades to ensure resource availability.
• Provide progress reports and forecasts to management.

What You’ll Be Contributing:

• Schedule Development: Develop baseline schedules, incorporate tasks, milestones, and dependencies with input from project managers and engineers.
• Monitoring & Updates: Continuously track actual progress against the plan, identifying deviations and potential impacts.
• Communication: Inform stakeholders, team members, and clients about schedule status, updates, and potential delays.
• Risk Mitigation: Identify potential scheduling risks and facilitate solutions or remedial actions.
• Coordination: Align activities across different departments and trades, ensuring resource availability.
• Reporting: Provide progress reports and forecasts to management.

What Sets You Apart:

• Bachelor degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience as a project scheduler or as a project manager with demonstrated scheduling experience and demonstrated project leadership.
• Detailed oriented with the ability to collaborate on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Bilingual French and English with excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent project scheduling software (ex P6).
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
• An ability to track and organize information data and communications efficiently to ensure project issues are dealt with promptly and properly.
• Ability to travel to customer’s job sites within Canada and the U.S.
• PMP certification - an asset.
