Project Quotation Specialist

Status: Regular, Full time

Location: Hamilton, Ontario

Job Description

Reporting to the Business Centre Manager, the Project Quotation Specialist provides accurate quotations to key contractors and collaborates with key suppliers on major projects. The ideal candidate should be skilled at meeting deadlines, organizing bills of materials, and managing acceptable margins during projects, including change orders and negotiations with key suppliers. Proactive expediting and a continuous pursuit of the latest product developments, features, and benefits are essential skills.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work closely with the Projects team and Sales Representatives
  • Monitor and track project addendums and handle changes as they arise
  • Report and escalate issues to management as needed
  • Liaise with customers to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives
  • Respond to customer requests promptly, ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Act as the point of contact for internal communication within the regional project team and coordinate effective project closures
  • Negotiate pricing and sales terms with vendors as per managerial criteria; resolve customer service issues promptly; follow up to ensure satisfaction; maintain technical knowledge of product lines
  • Develop, grow, and maintain long-term customer relationships
  • Maintain an organized job board
  • Contribute to regional project objectives
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum college education or 5+ years of experience
  • Experience in a similar role is an asset
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of vendor relationships
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Highly flexible with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with a positive professional attitude
  • Highly organized and self-motivated to improve business skills
  • Knowledge of the electrical distribution sales model is an asset
  • Experience with price sheets and matrices is an asset
  • Enjoy working with the public and eager to grow within Guillevin
