Position Description

As a Senior Project / Program Manager, you will lead end-to-end implementation of digital banking solutions at several Canadian credit unions. You will serve as the primary point of contact for the engagement, overseeing delivery timelines, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and change management efforts. You will work cross-functionally with solution architects, integration teams, customer success, and external vendors to ensure the digital banking software is delivered on time, on budget, and with measurable value to our clients.

Your future duties and responsibilities
  • Understand core banking digital interfaces, payments (Wire Transfers and ACH)
  • Lead full-cycle implementation projects of a digital banking platform for credit union clients—from project kickoff through to go-live and transition to support.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Manage relationships with credit union stakeholders (technical, operational, and executive), acting as a trusted advisor and escalation point.
  • Facilitate cross-functional coordination between internal product, engineering, and implementation teams, as well as third-party vendors.
  • Monitor and mitigate project risks, resolve issues proactively, and maintain clear, ongoing communication with all stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and security requirements (e.g., OSFI, AML, PCI DSS) throughout the delivery process.
  • Drive change management, training, and user adoption strategies in collaboration with client-side teams.
  • Deliver and present project performance reports, including KPIs, milestones, and executive summaries.
  • Contribute to the continual improvement of internal project delivery practices, templates, and frameworks.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
  • 7+ years of experience managing complex software implementation projects, ideally within the financial services or FinTech industry.
  • Proven success leading projects with credit unions, banks, or regulated financial institutions in Canada.
  • Strong understanding of payments, clearings and settlements, core banking systems, integrations (e.g., API / middleware), and financial services technology.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate organizations with diverse and sometimes competing interests.
  • Experience managing third-party vendors and technology partners.
  • Knowledge of Canadian regulatory environments and security standards relevant to digital banking.
  • Demonstrated experience in change management, especially with user adoption of new technology platforms.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as JIRA, MS Project, Smartsheet, Confluence, or similar.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications considered a strong asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and clients concurrently in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills—both written and verbal.
Nice to Have
  • Experience working with Canadian credit union networks (e.g., Central 1, Everlink, FICANEX, League Data, CGI, etc).
  • Purchasing and procurement of SAAS based software, preparing and responding to RFPs, in addition to the evaluation of vendor responses in a consulting capacity
  • Awareness in digital banking and self-service UI
  • Familiarity with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and hybrid delivery models.
  • Bilingual (English and French) is an asset but not required.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary and performance-based bonus
  • Flexible work arrangements (remote / hybrid)
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • Opportunity to work with some of the most forward-thinking credit unions in Canada
  • A supportive, collaborative, and fast-moving culture that values innovation and results

This job may be located anywhere in Canada, with customers located in either Ontario or British Columbia. The incumbent may need to adjust their schedules to accommodate virtual meetings across time zones.
