Zusammenfassung

Stantec is seeking a Project Planner to join our team of experts and contribute to the success of our organization. This role supports scheduling for engineering and construction projects, applying CPM methods, and coordinating with clients and project teams.

The position may be based in Montréal, Laval, Trois-Rivières, Québec City, or Chicoutimi, with primary on-site work in Chicoutimi. Travel to client sites as needed, and collaborate with project controls to maintain schedules and

Qualifikationen

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction and/or engineering projects.
  • Experience contributing to multidisciplinary EPCM teams.
  • Engineering degree is an asset (civil/structural/electrical/mechanical).
  • Diploma or degree in Project Management is an asset.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and stakeholder relationship ability.
  • Proficiency with Primavera, MS Project, Microsoft Office, and Adobe applications.

Aufgaben

  • Developing schedules for engineering and construction projects using CPM.
  • Creating and maintaining project schedules tailored to clients, PMs and teams.
  • Develop baseline schedules with PM and team before start-up.
  • Maintaining and updating project schedules throughout lifecycle.
  • Identifying and quantifying impacts of completed work; provide updates.
  • Incorporating resource/cost data into schedules as required.
  • Liaising with clients and teams to discuss impacts and resolve issues.
  • Ensuring proper planning before work begins with project team and client.
  • Collaborating with PMs to develop short-term schedules and monitor progress.
  • Providing schedule-related information for content and presentation.
  • Executing the integrated change control process for project schedules.
  • Supporting project controls and PMs with change management for scope/cost/schedule.
  • Staying current with scheduling software and planning tools.
  • Assisting with monitoring/approval of change requests.
  • On-site presence: work with clients to support scheduling/coordination.
  • Managing recurring/ad hoc reporting; participate in project reporting.

Your Opportunity

As a Project Planner, join our team of experts and contribute to the success of our organization.

This position may be based out of any of our offices in Montréal, Laval, Trois-Rivières, Québec City, or Chicoutimi. However, the primary work location will be Chicoutimi, as regular on-site presence at one of our client locations is required. Employees based in another office will be expected to travel to Chicoutimi as project needs dictate.

Your Responsibilities
  • Developing schedules for engineering and construction projects using the Critical Path Method (CPM).

  • Creating and maintaining project schedules tailored to the needs of clients, project managers, and project teams.

  • Prior to project start-up, developing baseline schedules in coordination with the project manager and project team to logically sequence the project scope.

  • Maintaining and updating project schedules throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Identifying and quantifying the impacts of completed work, assessing actual progress, and providing regular schedule updates.

  • Incorporating resource and/or cost data into schedules when required.

  • Liaising with clients and project teams to discuss work impacts and resolve issues.

  • Ensuring proper planning is completed before work begins by consulting the appropriate project team members and the client.

  • Collaborating with project managers to develop short-term schedules, monitor progress against these schedules, evaluate impacts on the master schedule, and recommend corrective actions.

  • Providing schedule-related information as needed regarding content, modifications, and presentation.

  • Executing the integrated change control process for project schedules.

  • Supporting project controls specialists and project managers with change management activities related to scope, cost, and schedule control requirements.

  • Staying current with advances in scheduling software and planning tools.

  • Assisting with the monitoring, evaluation, approval, and implementation of change requests.

  • For projects requiring an on-site presence, working closely with clients to support scheduling and coordination requirements.

  • Managing recurring and ad hoc reporting requirements and actively participating in project reporting activities.

  • Performing other planning-related duties as directed by the Project Controls Manager.

Your Background

We would be interested in hearing from you if you possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a construction and/or engineering project environment.

  • Demonstrated experience contributing effectively to multidisciplinary EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Project Management) teams.

  • A degree in Civil, Structural, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering is considered an asset.

  • A diploma or degree in a recognized Project Management program is considered an asset.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines.

  • Self-motivated, independent, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills.

  • Proven ability to build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with Primavera, MS Project, Microsoft Office, and Adobe applications.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and adaptability skills.
