On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is seeking a Project Manager- Learning and Development / HR for 1-year contract roles. These positions are hybrid roles requiring 2 days onsite weekly at the Toronto office with 4 days onsite in November.
Project Manager – Learning and Development / HR - Job Description :
Our client’s HR Learning & Development (L&D) group is looking for experienced Project Managers to support the planning and execution of medium-to-large scale initiatives. The successful candidates will manage cross-functional teams, drive stakeholder engagement, and ensure project deliverables align with business priorities. This is a backfill request within a fast-paced and collaborative L&D environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop an understanding of overall portfolio / program alignment with business priorities.
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of medium-to-high complexity L&D projects, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
- Drive L&D processes to implement learning solutions in multiple formats (ILT, eLearning, webinars, workshops, self-directed learning).
- Support vendor selection, onboarding, and engagement for third-party learning solutions.
- Build and manage effective stakeholder engagement strategies.
- Maintain strong communications with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Develop delivery strategies, change / launch communication plans, and maintenance plans in partnership with L&D CoEs and business partners.
- Enforce governance controls, proactively manage risks / issues, and lead retrospectives for continuous improvement.
- Stay current with project management best practices, including Agile and hybrid methodologies.
- Contribute to the broader PM community through knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Must Have Skills
- 7–10 years of project management experience.
- Proven ability to manage medium-to-high complexity projects.
- Agile / Scrum project management experience.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Project and MS Office.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Project Management experience specifically within Learning & Development (strongly preferred).
- Financial industry experience.
- PMP, Agile, and / or Scrum certification.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles and L&D methodologies.
- Experience with LMS, LXP, eLearning tools (e.g., SCORM, xAPI, HTML5), or development software (e.g., Articulate Storyline / Rise).
Qualifications / Experience
- University degree required; PMP or Agile certifications are assets.
- Strong ability to translate business needs into learning requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
- Solutions-focused, adaptable, and proactive in dynamic environments.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Experience facilitating team meetings in virtual environments (MS Teams, Webex).
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently under shifting priorities.
Assignment Length
1-year contract (extension and conversion possible).
