Job Overview

With the strong growth we have achieved over the last 5 years we are now seeking to add a capable, organised and methodical individual to fill a newly created PMA role to assist our Project Managers in maintaining capacity and ensuring compliance to our internal systems during our continued and future growth, whilst remaining as customer focused as we always have been.

This important role is an entry level position within our business and requires an extremely well organised, level-headed, proactive person who is diligent and methodical and wants to learn all there is to know regarding managing electrical installation contracts. They must be the right hand for our Project Managers, passionate about the industry we operate in, whilst being customer focused enough to always do the right thing for our customers, clients and processes. Suitable candidates must also be comfortable within a construction environment.

Qualifications

This position would suit someone that has recently (within the last 2 years) completed a Canadian electrical engineering or design degree who is looking for their first or second position within the Canadian electrical contracting industry.

  • Post Secondary Canadian degree in electrical engineering or electrical design,
  • 1 year (minimum) experience in Canadian electrical engineering or design industry,
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints,
  • Knowledge or permit procedures and inspections within BC,
  • Knowledgeable on the BC electrical code,
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on information provided by the Project Managers,
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously,
  • Ability to instruct electricians based on information provided by the Project Managers,
  • Understanding of project invoicing,
  • Ability to schedule multiple worksites,
  • Understanding scope and scope management,
  • Material acquisitions,
  • Familiar with MS office products and their uses within the industry,
  • Experience with Procore would be an asset,

Key Responsibilities

Ensuring adherence to internal reporting and auditing processes,

Preparing reports and audits as directed by the Project Managers,

Supporting operational integrity,

Assist in maintaining our business reputation,

Conducting internal audits and risk assessments on their jobsites with the Project Manager,

Identifying improvements and presenting solutions to the Project Manager,

Materials sourcing, ordering and value engineering,

Scheduling multiple job sites and electrical workers as directed by the Project Manager,

Attending site meetings where required by the Project Manager as well as standing in for their Project Manager when needed,

Ensuring electrical workers are correctly using our inventory / asset / tool management systems,

Any other duties and requirements detailed by their Project Manager,

Administrative duties pertaining to all the above.

Additional Information

Must posses excellent verbal and written communication skills in English,

Full Time, in office position (our construction sites are also classed as in-office),

French not required,
