About the job: Project Manager - Web Development

We are currently looking for a Project Manager of Web Development for our global web development client.

This is a full-time, permanent role.

Location: Remote, Toronto, ON, Canada (must be able to work on EST)

Job Description

Reporting to the Manager of Project Management Office, this role is responsible for the management and coordination of designated projects as directed by the business. Our purpose is to facilitate all internal and external project activities necessary to fulfill both short-term and long-term business objectives, with an eye to increasing the value of site offerings.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide project support to project team members, functional managers, and the business.
2. Support external project resources, including the Design group, Payment Processors, and 3rd party vendors.
3. Respond to and escalate project risks as appropriate.
4. Ensure interdepartmental project communications, both verbally and electronically.
5. Ensure individual project conformance with overall program objectives.
6. Ensure on-time delivery of all projects under your leadership.
7. Work with project team members to ensure initiatives have clear success criteria, an execution plan, resources, and delivery assessment.
8. Coordinate resource assignment with PMO and functional managers based on business priorities.
9. Set and reset project goals according to Change Management practices.
10. Communicate project status updates to PMO, management, and clients.
11. Create and monitor project assets, including definitions, technical documentation, release plans, and JIRA entries.
12. Develop project plans, schedules, issue logs, and risk mitigation plans.
13. Track project tasks, resource allocation, and status.
14. Lead production release activities, including risk assessment and resource coordination.
15. Administer project management tools like JIRA, Microsoft Project, and internal WIKI.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of 5+ years of project management/leadership experience in software development.
• At least 4 years of experience in full software lifecycle projects.
• Minimum of 2 years of external client management experience.
• Experience with website billing projects is a strong asset.
• Experience working with off-site project teams is preferred.
• Previous experience as a software developer, systems analyst, or business analyst is preferred.
• Project management experience on large/enterprise applications is required.
• Technical background in computer science and web programming is preferred.
• Experience with project management tools like Microsoft Project and defect management software is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including conflict management.
• Ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
