As we continue to grow our business and enhance our service offerings locally, we are seeking a highly motivated and technically competent Project Manager to join our Fredericton Water and Wastewater team.

In this role, you will have the ability to collaborate seamlessly with EXP’s multidisciplinary team from across our six (6) Atlantic Canadian offices on some of the region’s most exciting infrastructure projects! If desired, you will also be given the opportunity to work on some very unique and challenging projects from across North America.

The successful candidate will come with years of experience leading heavy industrial or municipal projects with a keen understanding of process driven design and construction and the ability to integrate water and wastewater technology into a multidisciplinary building project. This individual will be familiar with Canadian codes and practices, especially around environmental regulations. We are looking for a results driven project manager with the ability to lead and navigate both designers and clients through all stages of the project from concept to substantial completion. Preference will be given to those with contract administration expertise or those that have lead design build projects and have first hand experience with construction contractors and their means and methods.

Your Role & Responsibilities

You will play a pivotal role in bridging technical expertise with client-focused delivery. Your responsibilities will span across planning, execution, and successful completion of engineering projects. Here’s a breakdown of your key roles and responsibilities:

  • Project Planning & Scoping
    • Define project objectives, deliverables, timelines, and budgets
    • Develop detailed project plans and schedules
    • Ensure alignment with client expectations and regulatory requirements
  • Team Leadership & Coordination
    • Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers and designers
    • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and foster collaboration
    • Resolve conflicts and maintain team morale
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients
    • Communicate project updates, risks, and milestones
    • Manage expectations and ensure client satisfaction
  • Budget & Resource Management
    • Track project costs and ensure delivery within budget
    • Allocate resources efficiently and adjust as needed
    • Prepare financial reports and forecasts
  • Risk & Quality Management
    • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies
    • Ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations
    • Conduct quality assurance checks throughout the project lifecycle
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Maintain comprehensive project documentation
    • Prepare status reports, meeting minutes, and final project evaluations
    • Conduct post-project reviews to identify lessons learned
Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Technology degree would be considered in combination with the right work experience.
  • Experience in multidisciplinary design and construction preferred.
  • P.Eng. or P. Tech designation (or eligibility).
  • 10+ years of relevant project management experience, preferably in industrial process, water or wastewater industry.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
