Position Overview

Spark Power, a trusted partner in power in North America, is seeking a Project Manager for our Spark Testing Services Canada division. This division, accredited by NETA, performs electrical testing, maintenance, and commissioning activities across Southern Ontario. The Project Manager will interact extensively with customers, interpret their requests, and coordinate with management to meet project needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage relationships with clients, internal teams, and third parties including vendors, subcontractors, ESA, and utilities.
  2. Coordinate resources and third-party services for project execution.
  3. Ensure resource availability and proper allocation.
  4. Assist in developing project scopes and objectives, including risk mitigation strategies.
  5. Develop and maintain detailed project plans to monitor progress.
  6. Manage scope, schedule, and cost changes using appropriate techniques.
  7. Measure project performance with relevant metrics such as timelines, costs, and scope.
  8. Report issues to management and escalate as necessary.
  9. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  10. Negotiate additional work items with customers, with management approval.
  11. Evaluate team performance, identify training needs, and recommend improvements.
  12. Ensure compliance with safety policies and practices.
  13. Participate in budget planning, business development, and financial reviews.
  14. Maintain high customer satisfaction levels.

Candidate Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience in high voltage electrical roles
  • Experience with preventive maintenance programs and electrical testing plans
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology
  • Knowledge of power distribution troubleshooting and commissioning (asset)
  • Familiarity with testing methods such as Turns Ratio, Power Factor, VLF, Hipot, and others
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Detail-oriented with multitasking ability and minimal supervision
  • Computer literacy
  • Understanding of financial terminology (asset)
