Job description

This opportunity is located in Ottawa, ON.

As Project Manager, Technology, you will:
  1. Effectively carry out Plan Group's project management procedures from initial award of job to conclusion (Project schedule, change orders, as-built drawings, close out documents, etc.).
  2. Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure project implementation is executed in a timely and efficient manner, maintaining integrity of design and project schedule.
  3. Perform risk management throughout the project life cycle to minimize both known and unforeseen project risks and their negative impacts.
  4. Work closely with the management team to ensure feasibility and costing of projects according to budget.
  5. Provide status updates of work in progress and support with project forecasting, cost control, and Plan Group's T.l.M.E. efficiency program.
  6. Manage relationships with all project partners and the client to bring forward innovative solutions that achieve compliance within the project budget.
  7. Manage project delivery resources including employees and subcontractors.
  8. Frequently communicate the technical aspects and regular site activities of the project with relevant stakeholders to effectively update and act on pertinent information.
  9. Interface with consulting engineers to review and provide recommendations regarding implementation of the design and reports.
  10. Adhere to and carry out all safety requirements by the client, as well as follow all of Plan Group's safety guidelines.
  11. Track project performance and report status and escalate as required.
Qualifications
  1. You have a minimum of five (5) years of related Project Management experience within the construction industry and familiarity with a variety of construction field concepts, practices, and procedures.
  2. Strong understanding of technology and systems integration.
  3. Exposure to information technology, structured cabling, and building systems would be considered an asset.
  4. You have related post-secondary education; a university degree in engineering is preferred.
  5. Knowledge of Accubid software and/or estimating experience is considered an asset.
  6. Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience utilizing scheduling software preferred (i.e., Microsoft Project and/or Primavera).
  7. You hold or are working towards a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent, considered an asset.
