Job summary

Energy Vault seeks a dynamic Project Manager for Sustainability to implement the Town of Innisfil's Integrated Sustainability Master Plan. This role involves advising on sustainability practices, developing KPIs, and coordinating internal sustainability initiatives, supporting community efforts, and promoting environmental consciousness.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience in sustainability roles, preferably in municipal sector.
  • Experience in program delivery and environmental planning.
  • Valid Class 'G' driver's license.

Why You?

We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative self-starter to join our organization as Project Manager, Sustainability! In support of the Town of Innisfil’s Strategic Plan 2030, being true to the values: “Community First. Future Ready. Balance Always.”, you will be responsible for the implementation of the Town’s Integrated Sustainability Master Plan (ISMP) and program development ensuring sustainability is incorporated into all aspects of Town operations.

In this role, you will advise on sustainability principles within the Orbit project, and exciting Town capital and development projects, and will coordinate the internal efforts that continually advance the Town toward becoming more environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable, and will be responsible for:

  • Acting as sustainability adviser for the Town and serving as the organization’s main contact for sustainability matters and advancing sustainable practices within Town operations (including active transportation, Energy Conservation and Demand Management Plan, energy reporting).
  • Supporting staff in embracing sustainability and carbon neutrality and help set performance metrics; developing Key Performance Indicators (“KPIs”) for reporting and measuring success of sustainability initiatives.
  • Preparing and implementing sustainability guidelines.
  • Supporting community sustainability initiatives championed by the Town and the Innisfil Sustainability Advisory Committee (ISAC), organizing and managing special events.


Requirements

The preferred candidate holds:

  • A University degree in Environmental Studies/Science, Environmental/Civil Engineering, Environmental Planning or a related environmental or sustainability program. Related education with combined progressive relevant experience in sustainability and program delivery may be considered.
  • Five (5) to seven (7) years’ experience of related sustainability job experience, preferably in the municipal/public sector.
  • Professional Engineer’s (P.Eng.) designation from the Association of Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation from the Ontario Association of Civil Engineering Technicians and Technologists is considered an asset.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) Designation is preferred.
  • A valid Class "G" driver's licence in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business.
  • Availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required.
