Job Description

Metrolinx is connecting communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe. We operate GO Transit, UP Express, and the PRESTO fare system, and are building new rapid transit including GO Expansion, Light Rail Transit, and subway system expansions in Toronto. As an agency of the Ontario government, we focus on improving transit accessibility and efficiency.

Our Capital Projects Group – Rapid Transit (Subways) division seeks a Project Manager to oversee Subway Extensions (Scarborough and Yonge North). The role involves managing Communications and Integrated Control Systems across all project phases, from planning to operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of Communications and Integrated Control Systems for subway extension projects, including design, construction, testing, and commissioning.
• Oversee contractor activities, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
• Conduct site visits to supervise contractor work.
• Lead and coordinate with Technical Advisors, Delivery Partners, and contractors through all project stages.
• Assist in contract negotiations, change management, and schedule reviews.
• Engage stakeholders through regular communication and partnership development.
• Manage project budgets, contracts, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Ensure integration with other project disciplines and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Experience in transportation or public transit projects, especially managing technical teams and complex projects.
• P.Eng. and PMP certifications are assets.
• Knowledge of Communications Systems, SCADA, and subway or light rail systems is preferred.
• Understanding of project delivery methods like P3, DBB, and PDB.
• Strong stakeholder management and project risk mitigation skills.
