Project Manager – Special Projects

We’ve partnered with a leading General Contractor to support the growth of their Special Projects Group. This team delivers a wide range of projects—from high-end restaurants, spas, and private schools to commercial interiors and new builds—bringing creativity, precision, and collaboration to every job.

As a Project Manager in the Special Projects Group, you’ll take ownership of unique, fast-paced projects that require versatility and innovation. Whether it’s transforming interiors, delivering ground-up builds, or managing complex commercial spaces, you’ll be the driving force ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standard.

This Commercial General Contractor combines the agility of a growing firm with the polished professionalism of Canada’s largest builders. Collaboration is at the heart of everything they do—empowering Project Managers to work closely with clients, consultants, and trade partners while leveraging the latest tools and processes. This is a role where leadership, creativity, and problem-solving are celebrated.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead special projects (interiors and new builds) from initiation to close-out, ensuring consistent delivery of quality and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, trades, and internal teams to develop and execute tailored solutions for complex construction scenarios.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, guaranteeing projects are completed on time and within scope.
  • Prepare, review, and report on project documentation, driving transparency and accountability throughout all project phases.
  • Identify and resolve risks, maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and communication.
  • Inspire, motivate, and manage team members to uphold a culture focused on service quality and site excellence.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years’ experience managing construction projects (interiors and new build), ideally up to $20M in commercial, institutional or industrial sectors.
  • Proven ability to oversee project lifecycles, budgets, schedules, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder coordination abilities, committed to consistent high-quality outcomes.
  • Ability to drive innovation and problem-solving within dynamic, deadline-driven environments.
  • Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a closely related discipline is preferred.
