Job Description

We boast a seasoned multi-disciplinary crew ready to support your land development endeavor. To guarantee seamless project delivery, we provide an all-encompassing approach and a comprehensive array of services. Whether it's crafting commercial plans or orchestrating urban subdivisions, we strive to uncover optimal solutions, positioning ourselves as your trusted partner in land development. Armed with a wealth of project experience and an in-depth grasp of municipal requirements, the Egis team has expertise in the municipal approvals process.

Tailoring our approach to the specific nature of the development, we meticulously prepare engineering documents necessary for submission. These documents serve as a testament to our unwavering commitment to adhere to municipal design standards and criteria, assuring the municipality that the proposed development won't adversely affect adjacent properties or downstream infrastructure.

Embedded within Egis’s land development process is a thorough assessment of natural features on each site. Our meticulous plans are designed to minimize environmental impacts while ensuring the sustainable development of your project.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage, support, and be responsive to staff, including workload planning, mentoring, training, and communication with all direct reports;
  • Complete engineering design for a variety of projects, focusing on storm and sanitary services, watermain, lot/site grading and drainage, stormwater management, and utility coordination;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry professionals, consultants, and other business leaders;
  • Work closely with clients and internal teams to coordinate and facilitate project completion;
  • Assist with the organic growth of the Land Development group through key hires, new clients, and new opportunities;
  • Provide leadership and mentoring for engineering interns and technologists, guiding junior staff;
  • Prepare technical specifications and reports;
  • Liaise with clients, government, regulatory bodies, and contractors;
  • Maintain positive client relationships with stakeholders;
  • Prepare engineering services proposals;
  • Monitor industry standards and developments to assess client needs and propose solutions.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have the following background, skills, and attributes :

  • University degree in Civil Engineering;
  • 10+ years of design experience on land development projects;
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer in Ontario;
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD / Civil3D;
  • Excellent communication skills in English; French is an asset;
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving, time management, and creativity;
  • Understanding of the land development process;
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team;
  • Experience with project management and consulting engineering environment;
  • Knowledge of modelling software (PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, EPANET, etc.);
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
