About the job Project Manager / Residential Wood Frame

PROJECT MANAGER RESIDENTIAL WOOD FRAME/HYBRID

We are seeking a Project Manager to manage low to mid-rise wood-frame residential projects in the Okanagan. Reporting to the Director of Construction, the Project Manager is responsible for the overall management of the construction of an ongoing project. The ideal candidate will have start-to-finish project experience and share our commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

This position is located in Kelowna, BC, and works directly on the project site.

What you'll do:

  1. Manage multiple residential mid-rise wood frame/hybrid construction projects concurrently
  2. Build and maintain a master construction schedule with a clear critical path
  3. Control budget, schedule, and resource allocation
  4. Create and support strong team morale, professional development, and work ethic
  5. Demonstrate leadership skills with ability and willingness to face challenges, direct others, and effectively address conflict
  6. Act in a manner that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding project expectations
  7. Handle potential problems, work interferences, and schedule conflicts/setbacks
  8. Exhibit commitment to quality by evaluating project-related processes and making necessary changes
  9. Collaborate with subcontractors, engineers, architects, and staff
  10. Negotiate subcontracts and major purchases
  11. Oversee quality assurance and risk management
  12. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes
  13. Resolve design and construction challenges
  14. Create lasting and effective professional relationships
  15. Monitor and report progress to stakeholders
  16. Manage any environmental or local community issues that arise during a project

What you'll bring:

  1. Minimum 7 years of experience in residential or mixed-use wood frame/hybrid construction
  2. Experience with concrete foundations including podium-style parking garage/suspended slabs
  3. Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field
  4. Certificate in Project Management would be an asset
  5. Start-to-finish experience with wood frame projects
  6. Proficiency in computer skills and strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Project, Bluebeam, Procore, Timberline and other construction management software
  7. Experience with BIM is considered an asset
  8. Conflict resolution and conflict management experience
  9. Highly organized with superb time management skills
  10. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal abilities
