Job description

We are hiring a Project Manager with experience managing wind turbine service projects!

GEV Wind Power is growing, and we are seeking a skilled Project Manager with experience in managing wind turbine service projects across Canada. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful and timely delivery of projects, meeting key metrics such as safety, quality, cost, and people management. You will also serve as the main point of contact for clients to ensure their expectations are met, while collaborating closely with GEV Operations Coordinators, Safety Department, Field Supervisors, and Business Development teams.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain effective project management processes and control mechanisms to ensure effective delivery and completion of projects.
  2. Periodically travel to jobsites to evaluate project progress and interface with clients (approximately 20%+).
  3. Facilitate and lead effective pre-project planning meetings, daily project monitoring, weekly project reviews, timely mobilization and demobilization, and project close-out meetings and related activities.
  4. Plan project steps, milestones, labor requirements, supply, equipment, and material needs.
  5. Ensure operational and safety procedures are implemented and followed, in collaboration with the Field Safety Coordinator.
  6. Review and approve Daily Progress Reports (DPRs) and take corrective actions.
  7. Build and maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and GEV employees.
  8. Monitor and ensure project completion meets customer expectations; ensure revisions, changes, and additions to contracts are properly agreed to and invoiced.
  9. Regularly communicate project status, obstacles, risks, and successes to all stakeholders.
  10. Ensure the delivery of the entire project meets project margin goals and deadlines.
  11. Document project tracking status effectively in GEV systems and create reports as required.
  12. Participate in various meetings as required or requested.

This role requires a proactive approach to project management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
