Job summary

AtkinsRéalis in Canada seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead Reactor Component projects, coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing and site delivery to ensure safe, on-time and within-budget outcomes.

You will manage plans, schedules, costs, risks, and regulatory compliance while guiding cross-functional teams to meet client expectations in a highly regulated environment.

Job Description Overview

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the leadership, planning, execution, and delivery of assigned Reactor Component projects and manufacturing work packages. The PM is accountable for achieving project objectives safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with contractual, technical, quality, and regulatory requirements. This role provides leadership and integration across engineering, procurement, project controls, quality, manufacturing, supplier management, construction, and commercial functions to ensure effective project execution and customer satisfaction.

Project Delivery and Leadership

Lead the execution of assigned Reactor Component projects and equipment packages, including qualification, testing, procurement, manufacturing, inspection, and delivery activities. Develop, maintain, and execute integrated project plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables to support successful project outcomes. Establish and lead the project organization, including resource planning, staffing, performance management, and oversight of project team members. Accountable for achieving project scope, schedule, cost, quality, safety, and contractual objectives. Ensure equipment package readiness to support construction and site installation milestones. Drive project execution in accordance with approved Project Execution Plans and company procedures. Monitor project performance, including scope, schedule, cost, and key performance indicators, and provide regular status reporting to stakeholders and governance forums. Apply sound project management practices to proactively manage risks, issues, resources, interfaces, and stakeholder expectations.

Engineering Integration

Coordinate engineering, procurement, manufacturing, quality, and supplier activities to achieve project objectives. Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules and support procurement and manufacturing requirements. Manage design and technical interfaces between suppliers, engineering teams, and plant systems. Coordinate and facilitate the resolution of technical issues that impact project execution, manufacturing, procurement, or installation activities.

Procurement and Supplier Management

Support procurement strategy development, supplier qualification, and supplier selection activities. Manage supplier performance throughout project execution to ensure compliance with contractual obligations, quality requirements, and delivery commitments. Lead supplier progress reviews and maintain visibility of manufacturing schedules, key risks, and recovery plans. Manage procurement activities, subcontractor scopes, and contract administration processes. Support commercial negotiations, change management, claims avoidance, and contract management activities.

Manufacturing and Quality Oversight

Monitor fabrication and manufacturing activities through regular engagement with suppliers and manufacturing partners. Ensure manufacturing activities align with integrated project schedules and critical path requirements. Coordinate inspections, surveillance activities, manufacturing readiness reviews, and quality documentation requirements. Identify and resolve issues affecting manufacturing performance, material availability, quality, or production schedules. Ensure compliance with nuclear quality assurance programs, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

Stakeholder and Customer Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring effective communication and a high level of customer satisfaction. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Represent AtkinsRéalis in interactions with customers, suppliers, and project partners. Facilitate stakeholder alignment and support effective decision-making throughout the project lifecycle.

Governance, Risk, and Continuous Improvement

Identify, assess, and manage project risks, opportunities, issues, and interface challenges, implementing mitigation and recovery plans as required. Drive continuous improvement initiatives, operational excellence, and a strong nuclear safety culture. Ensure compliance with corporate policies, contractual obligations, regulatory requirements, the Nuclear Management System, and the Levels of Authority Policy. Execute delegated authorities, including approvals for project changes, timesheets, overtime, procurement authorizations, and other assigned responsibilities.

About you

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline. PMP certification is considered an asset. Minimum 8 years of experience managing or supporting complex engineering, manufacturing, procurement, construction, or capital projects. Experience delivering projects within highly regulated industries, preferably nuclear, energy, aerospace, or similarly regulated sectors. Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, including: Project planning and execution. Work Breakdown Structures (WBS). Earned Value Management (EVM). Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling. Contract and subcontract management. Procurement and supply chain management. Risk management. Project controls. Change management. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation. Demonstrated experience managing supplier and manufacturing organizations throughout project execution. Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to assess impacts and implement effective solutions. Proven leadership capabilities with experience leading cross functional and multidisciplinary teams. Excellent communication, organizational, stakeholder management, and customer relationship skills. Demonstrated commitment to nuclear safety, industrial safety, quality assurance, and customer focused project delivery.
