PROJECT MANAGER, PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT (12 Contract)

Type: Full-Time - 40 hours/week

Location: Remote ON

Aurora Cannabis inc. is currently looking for a PROJECT MANAGER to join our Product Development team in Science and Innovation. Working closely with stakeholders across the Aurora organization, throughout Operations, Commercial teams, as well as external vendors, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that new product development projects are delivered to meet the business’s needs.

The Project Manager will lead, track and manage deliverables that are critical to the success of the product development process. Prioritization, facilitation, stakeholder engagement and communications will be key skills to ensure success.

As a Project Manager, Product Development you will be responsible for:

  • Plan, execute, and monitor various concurrent projects within a Stage-Gate framework to ensure that they are delivered on schedule and to specifications.
  • Liaise with cross-functional project stakeholders to collect requirements and maintain effective communication.
  • Work closely with Operations team members to successfully launch products and ensure scalability and support efficient commercialization.
  • Understand regulatory and process control objectives of products and processes.
  • Provide leadership to the project team and work with team members to achieve common objectives, and ensure strategy and prioritization is front-of-mind.
  • Gather and record feedback to prioritize new features and improve product performance and manufacturability.
  • Pivot between waterfall and agile project management frameworks, as required.
  • Develop and implement effective reporting to keep project stakeholders and senior management informed on key project metrics.


You’re the ideal candidate if you have…

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in managing the development of new products or new technologies.
  • Experience managing projects involving multi-disciplinary teams operating in a fast-paced environment.
  • PMP, CAPM or Agile equivalent certification would be considered an asset.
  • Experience working in consumer-packaged goods, cannabis, pharmaceuticals, or agri-tech would be considered an asset, in particular within GMP environments.
