Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking Project Manager for a 13-month contract with a global cannabinoid company located in Stayner, ON. The company is committed to advancing cannabis research, technology, and product development. As the Project Manager, Product Commercialization, you will be responsible for the successful execution and implementation of new product launch projects. Your role will involve building large multidisciplinary project schedules, leading cross-functional teams to ensure project objectives are delivered on time and within budget, and collaborating across departments to overcome obstacles.

What you’ll be doing

  • Engage in the innovation and product development process from idea, concept, development, to commercialization and launch
  • Lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring they stay on schedule and within budget through effective planning, communication, leadership, and prioritization
  • Develop and execute communication strategies for stakeholders, including leading meetings, providing status reports, and risk management
  • Manage project constraints such as cost, time, scope, and quality
  • Track key milestones and adjust plans and resources as needed
  • Develop and monitor budgets for innovation and product development projects
  • Shape and evolve project management practices, including creating tools, templates, and processes
  • Coach, mentor, and train staff and leaders on project management methodologies and tools
  • Perform additional duties as required

What you bring to the role

  • Undergraduate or college degree required
  • Project Management or relevant professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are assets
  • 4+ years of project management experience
  • Experience in consumer product industries (e.g., CPG, pharmaceuticals, adult beverages) preferred
  • Experience or knowledge of the cannabis industry is an asset
  • Technical background (R&D, engineering, operations, supply chain) preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project is preferred
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large projects simultaneously within schedule and budget
  • Leadership skills to inspire and direct teams, with conflict resolution abilities
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques
  • Experience in workflow process mapping
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills across organizational levels and functions
  • Skills in coaching, mentoring, facilitation, and team building
  • Proven negotiation and communication skills
