Job description

Our client is a JV company, set up and including companies from both sides of the Atlantic. These include a well-known & established Canadian Pipeline business and a UK-based international infrastructure group.

Together as the JV, they are working with Shackleton Duke Ltd to recruit TWO Project Managers for projects in North East BC and North West Alberta – responsible for all aspects of a construction project undertaken by the company, including profitability, schedule, cost, change management, resource coordination, and owner relations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to project estimates and project closeout reviews.
  • Develop, implement, and manage a project-specific “Project Management & Control” plan for each project.
  • Liaise with Construction Managers and Superintendents to develop, implement, and manage project execution plans.
  • Lead the project teams in the development of the project construction methodology and procedures on an ongoing basis.
  • Manage and administrate all project reporting requirements, both internally and externally.
  • Utilize all corporate project systems and processes to meet the project deliverables.
  • Manage and maximize the use of project resources to effectively deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Responsible for the project change management process.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractor relations and administrative processes.
  • Responsible and accountable for the project financial results.
  • Support operations and functional management in the achievement of corporate initiatives.

Note: In addition to these duties, personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the Company.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience

  • Minimum of years in an oil & gas construction project management or project supervision role - profitably from a pipeline contractor company.
  • Minimum of inch diameter project delivery as client is currently laying inch pipeline.
  • Rotational field work required ( &) with LOA – but once project finished, you would be required to work in Calgary office on new pending projects etc.
  • Must have project exposure to values above $ million.
  • Below Ground.

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical, Civil/Structural), or graduate of an applicable technical diploma program, and/or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Skills

  • Understanding of the Oil and Gas industrial construction industry.
  • Ability to read and understand construction documents including contracts, drawings, specifications, and subcontracts.
  • Proven understanding of estimating and project management theories, methodologies, and industry practices.
  • Familiarity with relevant construction codes, standards, and practices.
