Description:

ATCO Frontec is seeking a Project Manager to join our Northern Operations team in Yellowknife, NT. The Project Manager oversees Facility Maintenance projects in Arctic Bay, NU, along with medium-scale civil and new construction, repairs/renovations, and construction projects.

This includes stakeholder management, reviewing work/scope requirements, SOW, preparing quotes/estimates, RFP/RFQ packages, scheduling, and conducting pre-job kick-off meetings. The role involves executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing projects to ensure timely completion and compliance with all requirements.

The Project Manager ensures that all work in the FM contract is completed on or ahead of schedule, manages staff and subcontractors, oversees contract amendments, quality control, occupational health and safety, spill response, emergency response, and financial reporting.

This role requires efficient administration and coordination of multiple projects, maintaining effective communication with clients and subcontractors, and addressing delays or issues promptly. Travel across the three Territories is required, with seasonal travel from July to September for project oversight.

Location: Remote or Yellowknife, NT.

Responsibilities:
  1. Manage and administer construction project contracts ensuring compliance.
  2. Resolve scope issues, respond to contract amendments, and manage change orders.
  3. Respond to client requirements and scope changes promptly.
  4. Ensure timely submission of reports and plans.
  5. Oversee quality control to meet service standards.
  6. Manage work delivery and asset management via CMMS.
  7. Identify opportunities for business growth.
  8. Manage geographically dispersed workforce ensuring service delivery.
  9. Maintain records of performance and out-of-scope services.
  10. Develop rapport with client staff and conduct briefings.
  11. Oversee recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and discipline.
  12. Identify scope changes and coordinate change orders.
  13. Ensure compliance with laws and safety regulations.
  14. Provide feedback on subcontractor performance and documentation.
  15. Prepare and analyze RFP/RFQ submissions and award contracts.
  16. Maintain a database of qualified subcontractors.
  17. Manage project documentation and conduct site inspections.
  18. Review project status reports and manage quotes/estimates.
  19. Conduct subcontractor orientation and pre-job meetings.
  20. Review and approve subcontractor invoices.
  21. Ensure subcontractors comply with health, safety, and environmental policies.
  22. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Ability to obtain a federal security clearance at the Secret level.
  2. Minimum of 10 years' experience in overseeing construction projects in a commercial/industrial setting, preferably in Northern Canada/Territories.
  3. Diploma in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or Project Management.
  4. Knowledge of building design, construction principles, and maintenance practices.
  5. Understanding of building codes and safety standards.
  6. Experience with project scheduling tools.
  7. Excellent customer relations skills.
  8. Strong organizational and coordination skills.
  9. Ability to manage multiple projects and contractual agreements.
  10. Proficiency in reading construction drawings and specifications.
  11. Knowledge of construction laws and contract management.
  12. Computer literacy, especially MS Office.
  13. Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
