About the Role

Position: Project Manager in the Natural Science team

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, leading, and delivering environmental and natural heritage projects. You will manage multidisciplinary teams and provide technical and strategic guidance to ensure successful project execution for clients across municipal, provincial, federal, and private sectors. This role combines project management expertise with a strong foundation in natural sciences such as biology, ecology, or environmental science.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage environmental and natural science projects, including ecological assessments, species-at-risk surveys, habitat evaluations, impact studies, and monitoring programs.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, work plans, and deliverables, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with internal technical staff, clients, and regulatory agencies.
  • Oversee fieldwork planning and execution, ensuring safety and quality.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, proposals, and regulatory submissions.
  • Maintain effective stakeholder communication, providing regular updates.
  • Support business development through proposal writing, client management, and opportunity identification.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.
What We Need From You
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
  • At least 5 years of experience in environmental consulting, with 2 years in project management.
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations (e.g., ESA, MECP guidelines).
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Experience with ecological fieldwork and species-at-risk legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office.
  • PMP certification is an asset but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Canada.
