Job summary

CIMA+ in Canada seeks a Project Manager for the Mobility Design team, based in Burlington or Mississauga, ON. The role partners with the Design Team to lead, plan, design, and tender municipal and transportation infrastructure projects within a hybrid work model.

Ideal candidates have a Civil Engineering background with a P.Eng., 10+ years in transportation design, and proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, InRoads or OpenRoads.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license from PEO.
  • Certification as PTOE or Road Safety Professional (RSP) is an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of design engineering experience in transportation projects.
  • Strong experience in transportation design including roads, intersections, roundabouts, traffic signals, and active transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage transportation projects on municipal roads across Ontario, including schedules, budgets, cost control and quality procedures.
  • Lead concept, preliminary, and detailed design and contract preparation for urban/rural road projects, including environmental assessments and active transportation.
  • Supervise design teams, liaise with clients, conduct technical reviews, and resolve engineering challenges.
  • Coordinate with government and regulatory authorities through permit approval processes.
  • Maintain relationships and pursue business development opportunities across Ontario.

Job Description

Please note we are hiring a Project Manager for the Mobility Design team in our Burlington or Mississauga, ON offices. The role will work closely with the Design Team to use technical and project management skills to lead, plan, design, and tender various municipal and transportation infrastructure projects.

Our hybrid work model allows flexible hours; the position can be based out of our Burlington office.

Job Responsibilities
  • Manage transportation projects on local, collector or arterial roads for municipal clients throughout Ontario, including schedules, budgets, cost control processes, quality control and work procedures.
  • Concept, preliminary and detail design and contract preparation for urban/rural road construction and reconstruction projects, including environmental assessments, intersections, traffic calming, active transportation, etc.
  • Supervise design of specific projects, guiding technical staff, liaising with clients, conducting technical reviews, preparing specifications, and resolving engineering challenges.
  • Liaise with government and regulatory/environmental authorities to guide projects through permit approval processes.
  • Maintain existing business relationships and coordinate business development activities, including identifying and pursuing potential marketing and new client opportunities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license from Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) or Road Safety Professional (RSP) is an asset.
  • Minimum of 10 years of design engineering experience in transportation projects.
  • Strong experience in transportation design, including roads, intersections, roundabouts, traffic signals, and active transportation facilities.
  • Proficiency in using design software packages such as Microstation, AutoCAD, Civil3D, InRoads, or OpenRoads.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with team members, clients, and agencies.
