Job summary

Peter Lucas Project Management is seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Canada, focusing on mining, energy, and heavy industrial projects. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, develop scope, budget, and schedule, and ensure health, safety and environmental compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires 3+ years in project management, engineering/PM education, and strong skills in scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in project management, preferably mining, energy, or heavy industrial sectors.
• Post-secondary education in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• PMP designation is considered an asset.
• Experience managing projects from planning through close-out; strong scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and resource management.
• Proficiency in coordinating contractors, consultants, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
• Strong knowledge of risk management, quality control, and change management.
• Proficiency with project management software such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans outlining scope, schedule, budget, milestones, and deliverables.
• Review and oversee engineering designs, specifications, and technical documentation for alignment with requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, contractors, consultants, and vendors for efficient execution.
• Monitor progress, quality, costs, and materials to meet plans and standards.
• Prepare progress reports, cost reports, forecasts, and performance metrics for management and stakeholders.
• Plan and allocate resources including personnel, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Identify, assess, and manage risks with mitigation strategies.
• Conduct project close-outs and lessons-learned for continuous improvement.
