This opportunity is for the Weeneebayko Area Health Authority (WAHA) redevelopment project located in Moosonee and Moose Factory Island.
As a Project Manager, Mechanical Construction, your responsibilities will include:
- Establishing and achieving project targets and milestones to deliver electrical projects on time and within budget.
- Providing active promotion and leadership in Health and Safety.
- Monitoring and providing status updates of work in progress, forecasts, cost control, and project schedule in line with Plan Group’s T.I.M.E. efficiency program.
- Proactively identifying and bringing potential problems and/or schedule delays to management’s attention.
- Following up to ensure accurate project forecasting.
- Monitoring and analyzing critical path activities and advising the project team accordingly.
- Reviewing and managing short interval planning.
- Leading pre-job planning, including estimate turnover, kick-off meetings, subcontractor selection, material handling strategies, and opportunities for risk management and improved productivity.
- Following up with site supervision on labour/manpower progress; identifying and reducing roadblocks to success.
- Managing the project team to ensure requirements for document control, change order process, coordination of equipment and material deliveries, site meetings, and progress documentation are adhered to.
- Identifying opportunities to provide project team members with regular feedback, coaching, and training.
- Building strong relationships with clients, GCs, and Engineers to contribute positively to the project's success.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical Engineering post-secondary education or related field, with a minimum of five (5) years of construction project management experience; trade experience is a definite asset.
- Experience managing Mechanical commercial and institutional projects.
- Knowledge of estimating software such as Accubid Change Order, Enterprise – Enterprise Change Order Version, and/or estimating experience is considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with scheduling software like Microsoft Project and/or Primavera is preferred.
- Holding or working towards a Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or equivalent is an asset.
- Experience analyzing and understanding architectural, electrical, and mechanical construction drawings, with experience working on commercial projects.
