  • Familiar with PM lifecycles; Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches.
  • Proficient with MS Office; experience with MS Project, Visio, JIRA, Trello, Confluence, SharePoint.
  • Strong organization, communication, documentation, time‑management and problem‑solving.
  • Able to manage competing priorities and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

  • Support project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and closeout.
  • Maintain plans, charters, status reports, minutes, logs and action items.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, resources, vendors, access and handoffs.
  • Track tasks, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues and decisions; escalate as needed.
  • Prepare concise status updates and leadership reports.
  • Support budget tracking, forecasting, time/expense validation and invoicing.
  • Administer tools including MS Project, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint and Project Online.
  • Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, team members and SMEs.

The Role Position: Project Manager (Junior PM) (Non‑Union) Division: Application & Consulting Service Manager: Nelson Alves Location: Alberta. The Junior Project Manager is an entry‑level role that provides foundational experience in the project management profession. Working under the guidance of senior project managers, this position supports multiple concurrent projects and a range of Project Management Office (PMO) functions. Key activities include maintaining project documentation, updating project plans, and participating in meetings, workshops, and other PMO initiatives. The role requires a basic understanding of the project life cycle that includes initiation, planning, execution, and closure, as well as familiarity with project management tools, techniques, and methodologies. The Junior Project Manager collaborates with internal and external customers, vendors, technical and business teams, and subject matter experts. The work location for this position is Alberta, Canada.

Responsibilities:
  • Support project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities.
  • Maintain project plans, schedules, charters, status reports, meeting minutes, action logs, risk and issue logs, and related records.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, resources, vendors, access, and deliverable handoffs across business and technical workstreams.
  • Track tasks, milestones, dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, and follow‑up actions; escalated concerns promptly.
  • Prepare concise status updates and reports for project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support budget tracking, forecasting, time and expense validation, and invoice preparation.
  • Help administer collaboration and delivery tools, including Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, and Project Online.
  • Build effective working relationships with customers, vendors, team members, and subject matter experts.
Qualifications:
  • One to three years of IT project coordination or project management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
  • Formal education or training in project management is preferred.
  • Commitment to pursuing the Project Management Professional (PMP)® designation is required.
  • Basic knowledge of project lifecycles and Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Microsoft Project, Visio, JIRA, Trello, Confluence, or SharePoint is an asset.
  • Strong organization, communication, documentation, time‑management, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, take direction, collaborate across teams, and follow through on commitments.
  • Customer‑focused approach and confidence, participating in project meetings.
