9 Months contract (T4) (possible extension, but not guaranteed)

Location: Markham, ON L3T 7X6 (Most work will be done remote; there may be a rare occasion where we will be onsite)

Job Title: SW Program Manager


Ways To Stand Out:
  • In depth knowledge of Agile, with credentials along CSM/PSM/SAFe
  • Experience with system software (driver/OS level) on Android/Linux/Windows environment
  • Familiarity with 3D graphics and gaming knowledge

Education:
  • Bachelor degree in one of the following:
    • Computer Engineering
    • Computer Science
    • Electrical Engineering
  • PMP certification is highly desirable
  • MBA is an asset

The Role:

As a Program Manager within Client's software engineering team, you will work with some of the brightest minds in the industry and will be responsible to drive end-to-end delivery of software for Client's leading-edge GPU and APU products and solutions. You will collaborate with product management, software and hardware engineering teams, quality assurance and operations, as well as customers to enable delivery of Client's product roadmap.


The Person:

The successful candidate is a results-oriented self-starter, and quick learner. Passionate about new technology, they lead through influence and get things done. They resolve ambiguity and adapt to changes in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Drawing on their engineering background and proven experience in delivering software programs, the ideal candidate is an effective communicator who can comfortably engage with key partners at all levels, from driving technical discussions to leading executive program reviews.


Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive program plans and work with cross-functional engineering teams to lead programs from initiation to completion
  • Maintain necessary program artifacts for all software delivery including scope definition, specifications, schedule/Gantt, risk register, resource plans, status communications, etc.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and action is taken to enable improvements on future programs, products or processes
  • Present program status updates to all levels of the organization tailoring the message delivery for the intended audience
  • Manage the execution of multiple parallel projects within a matrix environment balancing competing demands
  • Track Software Feature Enablement progress by comparing actual progress against the plan
  • Play a key role in understanding product architecture, requirements and ensure scope control
  • Dedication to meeting deadlines and an aptitude to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Experience:
  • Minimum 10 years proven project and program management experience, with expertise leading large and complex programs in a dynamic and competitive industry with focus on product development
  • Comprehensive understanding of the end-to-end product development process (Software Development Life Cycle)
  • Strong knowledge of productivity and project tools including Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project
  • Experience collaborating with large, global engineering teams
  • Strong presentation and leadership skills; with ability to lead technical discussions
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills
