Job summary

Westerkirk Capital in Calgary seeks an Industrialization Project Manager to develop and execute project plans aligned with aerospace manufacturing strategies. You will lead initiatives to improve production efficiencies, design manufacturing cells, and coordinate Make vs Buy decisions with business cases.

Strong project management skills and a deep understanding of Lean concepts are required to drive continuous improvement across complex manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

• Technical post secondary degree.
• 5+ years Aerospace work experience in an Engineering/Methods/Manufacturing Environment.
• In-depth knowledge of Aerospace Manufacturing Systems and aircraft.
• Experience leading project teams and strong project management skills.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts with a spirit for continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Manager, Industrialization Program, the Industrialization - Project Manager will be responsible for developing and executing project plans aligned with company manufacturing strategies.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Development, coordination and execution of transformative projects linked to improved production efficiencies
• Development of manufacturing cell design and plant layout
• Coordination of projects aligned to company manufacturing capabilities and strategies (Make vs Buy) including business cases
• Project governance and oversight

Education & Experience

• Technical post secondary degree
• 5+ years of Aerospace work experience in an Engineering/Methods/Manufacturing Environment
• In depth technical knowledge of Aerospace Manufacturing Systems, Aerospace Engineering Systems and the aircraft
• Experience in leading project teams and possess strong project management skills
• Experience in the identification and implementation of New Manufacturing Technologies
• Knowledge and experience with Lean concepts with a spirit for continuous improvement

• Ability to read and interpret aircraft engineering drawings
• Ability to communicate well orally and in writing
• Ability to manage and act on multiple projects and priorities at one time.
