Job description

We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager with extensive experience in large construction projects to lead our dynamic team. As the Project Manager, you’ll step into a leadership role where you'll guide and inspire project staff while serving as the main point of contact for our valued clients. You’ll oversee the seamless execution of daily operations, ensuring that every project runs smoothly, safely, on schedule, and within budget.

Your problem-solving expertise and innovative mindset will be key as you develop and implement strategic plans to overcome challenges and drive project success.

Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrates leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project.
  2. Provides strong leadership to construction team members, capitalizing on individual and group strengths to ensure project targets are achieved.
  3. Accountable for the construction schedule in conjunction with project team to meet milestones and completion dates.
  4. Leads project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project’s ongoing progression.
  5. Identifies and manages opportunities and risks to achieve the best possible outcome for schedule and financial targets.
  6. Monitors project performance through regular reviews of functional schedules, project productivities and budget KPI’s.
  7. Manages all risks and changes associated with the project contractual agreement.
  8. Maintains, tracks, and reports all financial aspects of project including forecasts and billings.
  9. Management of work processes and procedures relating to associated process improvements, training and personnel.

Qualifications:

  1. 10 + years of relevant work experience in multi-discipline construction projects.
  2. Professional Engineering, Technology designation and/or Journeyperson certification is an asset.
  3. Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, current construction practices and methodology.
  4. Strong negotiation/management skills.
  5. Knowledge of financial aspects of project management including estimating, budgeting, cost controls, and reporting.
  6. Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate with multiple stakeholders, understand and interpret stakeholder needs, and identify solutions to non-routine queries using both verbal and writing skills.
  7. Capable of anticipating constructability issues in moderate to complex situations and creating solutions in the construction plan and schedule.
  8. A track record of building successful teams and promoting teamwork through motivating, coaching and consensus-building.
  9. Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
