General Overview
As a Project Manager, your primary responsibility is overseeing the project scopes of work for ongoing Capital, Lifecycle, and client-driven projects at our existing facilities across all disciplines – Architectural and MEIT. It's essential to carry out all functions and responsibilities in alignment with the company's values and beliefs.
You, as a Project Manager, will :
- Have oversight from pre-construction to completion including design, coordination, budget, and schedule in conjunction with hospital end users, Facilities Management team, and all stakeholders.
- Manage all facets of a project and take on direct accountability for project delivery to meet and exceed established goals including scope, schedule, budget, procurement, quality, and risk.
- Prepare detailed scope of work, request for proposal documents, cost estimates & budget, work plan schedule & milestones, quality control, and risk identification.
- Oversee and manage contractors working on site.
- Be able to execute work under various contracts. Familiarity with Contracts is required, as most of our facilities operate in a P3 environment.
- Plan and coordinate all Health & Safety aspects required for project completion.
- Develop and implement a communication plan for the project, maintain written reports / meeting minutes, and track progress and status of each project.
- Prepare regular, timely, and accurate billing, and ensure timely payment of subcontractor billings.
- Meet with hospital clients, end users, clinical teams, consultants, and subcontractors professionally, communicating effectively to address concerns and promote the company's interests.
- Monitor, interpret, and forecast project cost reports to ensure alignment with estimates.
- Submit project reports to the General Manager and Senior Manager, and communicate project progress and risks to management.
- Review, interpret, and update construction and project schedules.
- Maintain accurate shop drawings, track RFI’s, obtain quotations for notices of change, and update as-built documents.
- Conduct quality control activities, inspection programs, and update project progress records periodically.
Is this the right role for you?
- Bachelor of Applied Science / Bachelor of Engineering is strongly recommended.
- Minimum 5-7 years of related industry experience.
- Experience in managing projects end-to-end, including scope development, specification, tendering, contractor management, quality review, and project closeout.
- Proficiency in managing multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.
- Experience in hospital/healthcare, P3, ICI construction.
- Ability to prioritize and manage workload with limited supervision.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
This position will be based at an EllisDon site, so travel throughout the GTA is required, as well as within Canada and the USA as needed.
