Reporting to the General Manager the Project Manager provides overall direction leadership supervision and strategic vision to a team of expert members assigned to specific waste management projects. This role focuses on driving the development and implementation of innovative waste management programs and initiatives to enhance waste reduction recycling and sustainability efforts. The Project Manager oversees project lifecycles ensures alignment with organizational goals and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders to deliver successful outcomes.

The Essex-Windsor Solid Waste Authority (EWSWA) is the governmental agency charged with the responsibility of providing an economical and environmentally conscious integrated solid waste management system for the County of Essex (County) and the City of Windsor (City). The mission of the EWSWA is to provide programs to manage the solid non-hazardous waste generated in the County and the City in an environmentally sound manner through processes which include but are not necessarily limited to reduction reuse recycling composting and landfilling.
What Youll Do
The Project Manager among other things shall :
Leadership and Project Planning
Define project goals objectives and scope and develop and implement project plans ensuring alignment with goals timelines budgets and resource requirements for various solid waste programs
Review and author technical documents including project specifications and reports ensuring compliance with project requirements
Conduct research gather analyze and interpret data and prepare documents reports and recommendations on waste management services
Lead divisional projects focusing on strategic goals including the development and implementation of innovative waste management infrastructure and programs to enhance sustainability and operational efficiency
Develop training course materials and conduct training sessions and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Identify risks and ensure project benchmarks are met maintaining deliverables within the terms of contracts and service agreements
Provide work direction to project team members contractors and consultants to ensure effective teamwork high-quality work and achievement of project goals
Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned
What You Bring
Education :
Bachelors degree in Environmental / Civil Engineering or a related field
Experience and Expertise :
Minimum of 5 years of experience in waste management environmental services or a related field
Skills and Abilities :
Strong knowledge of waste management practices environmental regulations and sustainability standards
Other Requirements :
Must possess and maintain a valid Class G Ontario drivers license and have access to a personal vehicle for work-related purposes (travel within Windsor and / or the County of Essex may be required
