Overview

Job DescriptionSummary: Provides sales management of all Technical Service Representatives and provides house management of all the roofing specifications, design, technical, and engineering responsibilities the company has currently and in the future.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(Other duties may be assigned)

  • Manage and supervise all activities performed by Building Owner Services (BOS)/Technical Service Representatives (TSR).
  • Support TSR’s in development of roofing specifications.
  • Support the use of specification writing tools and energy analysis tools for roofing applications.
  • Develop action plan for developing and servicing a customer base consisting of design professionals, property managers, approximately 25% of travel to firms, architects, engineers, roof consultants, construction management companies, design build general contractors.
  • Provide analysis and development of all specification, design, technical, engineering responsibilities of products sold by the company currently and in the future.
  • Primary contact with roofing vendors on non-contractor sales programs.
  • Maximize our value proposition by identifying sales opportunities through the analysis of our manufacturers and our competitor product lines.
  • Provide guidance to all roofing sales representatives on technical product bulletins.
  • Solicits new products for which the company will provide manufacturer representation services.
  • Work in conjunction with the Distribution Sales Manager regarding: support for vendors’ strategic accounts/account groups, tapered insulation design and sales, distribution of all sales leads created by TSRs, and creation and review of sales management presentations.
  • Provide analysis for all roofing sales personnel in regards to the enforcement, compliance, and interpretation of current building codes on all roofing products sold by the company.
  • Coordinate approval of all required shop drawings for Sentriclad Metal Roofing Program.
  • Manage and direct all activities related to Construction Data Services (currently REED).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

None required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); minimum of five years roofing experience with a manufacturer, wholesale, manufacture representative or contractor level in the roofing business; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have proficient experience in CAD type applications.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Active RRO, RRC, or PE .

SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Proven leadership experience managing and supporting Technical Service Representatives (TSRs).
  • Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems, specifications, and applicable building codes.
  • Skilled in developing and reviewing roofing design documents, including tapered insulation layouts and shop drawings.
  • Proficient in CAD software and specification writing tools for technical roofing applications.
  • Experienced in identifying sales opportunities through product and competitor analysis.
  • Effective communicator with architects, engineers, vendors, and internal sales teams.
  • Ability to interpret and enforce technical product bulletins and compliance requirements.
  • Knowledgeable in managing non-contractor sales programs and vendor relationships.
  • Comfortable using CRM systems and construction data platforms such as REED.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Work involves standing and walking for brief periods of time, but most duties are performed from a seated position. There is potential for eye strain from reading detailed materials and looking at a computer screen. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboards at a moderate skill level. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. Assignment must be physically able to traverse jobsite conditions, climb ladders, be steady and safe on a swinging stage, ascend to roof heights, wear proper PPE and harness/restraining devices, and move safely across roof expanses.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
