What you'll be doing

As a member of the Capital Markets Technology team, the Project Manager, IT is a seasoned expert responsible for overseeing the day-to-day project activities of complex projects of a tactical nature, ensuring project control procedures and policies are adhered as per technology’s project performance standards. You will be applying deep knowledge to manage the delivery of project management best practices and processes including reporting, project planning, and support activities. The Project Manager, IT uses significant latitude in determining objectives and leads employees in the development of analytical approaches, while establishing and maintaining client, senior management, and project manager relationships. In addition, the role provides status updates and progress reports to project stakeholders to manage expectations related to scope and timeline constraints.

How you'll succeed

  • Project Management – Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs. Assess the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team and provide guidance that will continuously improve the project plan.
  • Collaboration – Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services. Coach and mentor your teams as you work toward a common goal. Negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary.
  • Project Coordination – Proactively identify risks to the project schedule and find ways to mitigate them. Monitor milestones; ensure they are completed according to timelines and budgets. Execute a project plan that strikes the right balance between budget, time, and risk.
  • Relationships – Develop trusted working relationships with business stakeholders and technology partners.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate at least 3 years of experience in project management, ideally within the financial services (preferably Capital Markets) or technology industry. You have managed cross-portfolio projects in a matrix environment. You have experience with waterfall and agile methodologies and knowledge of the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC). You have experience with project management and issue management tools like Planview, Confluence, and JIRA. Strong Asset if you have experience working on Azure DevOps.
  • You have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Management Information Systems, or a related field of study. It’s an asset if you have your PMP designation.
