PHASOR Engineering Inc. is a dynamic consulting firm specializing in the engineering and design of overhead & underground transmission/distribution systems, substations, fibre optics, as well as substation and transmission foundations. Our expertise allows us to be involved in a diverse range of projects from conceptual engineering through to commissioning and startup.

Phasor is currently seeking a full-time Project Manager to join our Substations team in our Calgary office. Reporting to the Project Management Office, the Project Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the project, including project planning, execution, communication, risk management, budgeting, and scheduling. The candidate will manage projects from start to finish, ensuring timely execution, coordination with various teams, managing client relationships, and adherence to quality standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed project plans including timelines, budgets, resources, and risk assessments.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project team members.
  • Coordinate with design, fabrication, construction, and commissioning teams to meet project goals.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation such as progress reports, meeting notes, technical specifications, and change orders.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and vendors.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues during the project.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Electrical, Structural, Civil Engineering, or related field from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Engineer.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in Canada related to Transmission, Distribution, or Substation Engineering.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer or eligible for registration as an EIT with a provincial regulatory body.
  • PMP certification or willingness to obtain within one year of hire.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize critical tasks in a high-paced environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
