Our client is a mid-sized general contractor specializing in commercial, retail, and institutional construction. They are currently seeking a Project Manager to oversee and manage all operational aspects of renovation and fit-out projects in the Ottawa area.
Job Description
Project Manager - Commercial/Institutional - Ottawa
- Lead and oversee ICI construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring successful delivery that meets project specifications.
- Create and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders involved in the project.
- Conduct regular site visits to track progress and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Facilitate clear communication among all project participants, including clients, architects, engineers, and internal teams.
- Prepare and present project status updates to senior management and clients.
- Identify potential risks and issues, proactively addressing challenges as they arise.
- Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements and company policies.

The Successful Applicant
Project Manager - Commercial/Institutional - Ottawa
Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Design-Build, Project Management, or General Contracting within the ICI sector.
- Proven experience managing commercial construction projects from start to finish, with project values ranging from $1M to $10M.
- Educational background in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes in the ICI sector, building codes, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to ensure project milestones and deadlines are consistently met.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organized with advanced analytical and problem-solving abilities.
