Reporting to the RFBR SGR Project Director, the Project Manager has overall accountability for the progression of planning and readiness activities related to Pickering RFBR’ Steam Generator Replacement (SGR) Civil & heavy lift. This position provides leadership and alignment for all activities related to the SGR welding works. This position is the primary point of contact to ensure a consistent, deliberate, and clear methodology is used for key decisions, and advancement of deliverables the scope of work.

What You'll Do Here

  • Lead by example to ensure a “ONE TEAM” Project-First, collaborative approach for internal, external, cross-JV, and client-facing interactions.
  • Ensure the delivery of all its scope in accordance with safety standards, on time, on budget, and compliant with the Contract.
  • Provide regular and accurate progress updates to the Project Director, CanAtom Project Controls, and the client for reporting purposes.
  • The Project Manager is accountable for cost & schedule adherence and management of threats and opportunities, including timely escalation.
  • Early identification of any threats to Project schedule or cost profile, or quality issues.
  • Constantly monitor for schedule and cost reduction opportunities across his scope of works.
  • Work collaboratively with the SGR stakeholders to ensure the Project requirements are met and represent the most efficient methods to deliver its Scope.
  • Driving compensatory actions related to adverse quality trends during the project.
  • As a member of the SGR Project Leadership Team, participate in regular meetings and provide advice and support to the other members.
  • Support the development and maintenance of the Project Risk Register.
  • Interfacing with the Client on requests for contract changes in close collaboration with the support team.
  • Tracking and expediting internal and external deliverables as part of the contract.
  • The Project Manager is the SPOC for its scope for all the SGR organization.
  • Ensure support and technical assistance are deployed to the Construction team during the construction phase on Site.
  • Provide frequent, informal performance feedback to SGR team members, and formal feedback according to home office company policy.

What You Bring To The Team

  • 5 - 10 years of related experience, ideally in a nuclear environment.
  • Quantitative, Engineering or Construction Management Post-Secondary Degree.
  • Detail Oriented Approach, Focused on Quality.
  • Agility & Flexibility in a Dynamic Environment.
  • Innovative Problem-Solving Skills.
  • EPC Contractor Experience.
  • Construction Field Experience in nuclear environment.
  • Mega-project or Portfolio Projects Experience in nuclear environment.
  • Demonstrated Project Management Knowledge (e.g. via PMI Certification).
  • Claims Avoidance and/or Claims Negotiation Experience.
  • Leadership Experience in High-Performing Teams.
