Position Information

The Capital Projects Office oversees all areas of Construction and Project Management, including contracting, design & construction, operations, and management.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop project management materials such as project charters, work breakdown structures, KPIs, milestone maps, status reports, and tracking systems.
  2. Create standardized documentation for projects to be shared with stakeholders and project teams.
  3. Formulate project strategies, frameworks, and provide strategic advice to senior leadership.
  4. Support project direction and ensure timely, within-budget, and scope-compliant delivery.
  5. Review client requests for changes and recommend solutions to keep projects on track.
  6. Communicate project scope, objectives, and progress to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and updates.
  7. Act as liaison among project teams and stakeholders, facilitating communication and meetings.
  8. Develop communication plans and materials tailored to target audiences.
  9. Engage stakeholders at all levels to foster project buy-in.
  10. Prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence to support business needs.
  11. Conduct research on accommodation solutions, designs, and project reconfigurations.
  12. Benchmark best practices and coordinate with organizations/vendors.
  13. Provide technical support and produce data to clarify project requirements and status.
  14. Monitor data for validity and outliers, ensuring quality control.
  15. Assess completed projects for design effectiveness and recommend improvements.
  16. Research project aspects to advise and support project agents and participants.
  17. Track project milestones and progress to ensure timely delivery.
  18. Coordinate activities related to assigned projects and support other project teams.
  19. Lead committees and provide guidance on project implementation and issue resolution.
  20. Assign tasks, monitor activities, and facilitate team alignment and development.
  21. Provide feedback and performance input to team members and stakeholders.
What You Will Do

As a Capital Projects Manager, you will oversee multiple construction projects from inception to close-out, ensuring safety, functionality, schedule, and budget compliance. Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you will implement strategies, manage approvals, handle administrative and financial tasks, and coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and vendors.

What You Will Bring
  • Four-year degree in architecture, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years of construction project management experience.
  • Two years of leadership experience.
  • Experience in writing/reviewing project specifications and contracts.
  • Understanding of construction disciplines and practices.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and project management software.
You Will Stand Out With
  • Experience in equipment or construction project commissioning.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP) or licensed professional engineer (P.Eng.).
  • Experience in healthcare construction environments.
