Accommodations Planning is responsible for the delivery of space and accommodation planning services and operations to the corporation, as well as participating on cross-departmental teams involved in the design, construction, rehabilitation and/or retrofitting of City buildings.
You manage total project delivery of concurrent space planning and accommodation projects from inception, RFP development, consultant selection, pre-design, detailed design, specifications, tendering, award, construction, rehabilitation, testing, commissioning, turnover to clients, and warranty.
You are responsible for: managing multiple projects for all phases of the project delivery, from project inception through consultant selection (where applicable), public consultation, environmental assessments, pre-design, detailed design, tendering, and award, to construction; monitoring, tracking and reporting on project status; approving all project expenditures; arranging all project related testing; and handling commissioning/turnover to operating branches.
You also: provide a review, approval and monitoring function for projects; contribute to the review and development of corporate space planning and accommodation standards, and carry out other duties as assigned.
Completion of 4 year university degree in Architectural Studies (BAS), Interior Design (Bachelor of Interior Design, Applied Arts (Interior Design) or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience related to space planning, design and construction of accommodation projects, including 3 years of project management experience.
